In Aztec mythology, Xolotl is the god of the fire, lightning, misfortune, and deformity, been the guardian of the sun in the underworld every night and also the guide of souls.
Twin brother of Quetzalcoatl, Xolotl is represented as a human with the skull of a dog or as a monstrous dog.
